ReSources for Sustainable Communities

Look at this 2011 contract for $102,116.00, to target you!   Have you heard about "Stormwater University"?    The City of Bellingham has ReSources snooping around to identify likely environmental miscreants - businesses that they feel might pollute -- and then subject them to a training program.   What gets even more bizarre, the City of Bellingham expanded this down into Skagit County, too.   Watch out, Skagit.

From 2005 through June 2011, ReSources - not shy about being an activist organization -- has been selling a lot of services to both Whatcom County and the City of Bellingham:

     City of Bellingham      $259,585.00   (contracts)
     Whatcom County        $474,005.18  (disbursements)
                    Total                  $ 733,590.18

The public should know that Carl Weimer, who was Executive Director of ReSources for 13 years, served as a county councilman since 2006.  He's currently moved on, but he never recused himself of voting to approve grants or contract awards to ReSources.  He left deep fingerprints on county policy and the comprehensive plan.

There's a very real crony/corruption problem in this county.
