Gasoline has a much higher watt-density than sunlight, which is why they're using a gas generator here, instead of solar panels. A picture is worth a thousand words.
The problem should be obvious to anyone, and funny too, if only it wasn't so sad.

Lo. I'm a dim bulb, I was sure the answer was going to be lack of sunshine.....

Your bulb's nowhere as dim as this solar-power failure/generator-dependent sign, ha! Solar and wind are so incredibly inefficient they can only "make it" (if you can call it "making it") on huge subsidy. THAT rates as innovation? The proponents want an energy descent - and they're fleecing us as they drag us down these rabbit holes. Solyndra was a scandal; looks like a long queue for more crony deals:

Sustainability = Agenda 21. This comes right from the U.N's own website

Any physicist knows that the technology for replacement of fossil fuels w/renewable's is unsustainable economically. With this information so readily available to them, we must ask ourselves, "Why?"

That was a funny picture. But it reminds us of a sad truth. We do not act as we say. Using gasoline to show a billboard about solar energy is such an oxymoron. Thanks for posting this picture. It will spread a good message.
