Word to the wise...Thumbs Down on Council Propositions 9 & 10

Have you seen these signs?   The DOVE video (below) explains why a person should reject Council Propositions #9 and #10 to keep this county diverse. A fortune is being spent by organizations that want Bellingham to "rule." WE find DOVE's reasoning much better.  Be wise, vote smart.  Hang on to two-representatives in three districts.  Council's 9 & 10 are a colossal ripoff.

For diversity, like pointed out here, vote for Proposition 9. Three strangely drawn districts allows for no diversity whatsoever.
I agree on Proposition 1. People should be represent by the people THEY choose, not by the candidates that were chosen in other parts of the county
Vote against Propositions 2, 3 and 10. They all clearly take power away from voters. A charter amendment must be approved by voters.

This is an honest blog - WE are big on the 1st Amendment. But WE disagree with your position. Keeping what you call three "strangely drawn districts" won't pit city people against their rural neighbors. Given that Bellingham is the county seat where everybody shops and does official business, the three funnel-shaped boundaries make sense. Prop 9 is the power move; why else would the Ds be so hot for it?
